Lucky escape for passengers as bus catches fire

Passengers travelling a private bus had a miraculous escape, as the vehicle went up in flames at Tummalapalem village on the city outskirts on Thursday.

However, no one was injured in the mishap, said the police.

According to sources, the passengers noticed smoke emanating from the bus, when reached Ibrahimpatnam mandal. No sooner did they jump out of the vehicle, it went up in flames.

The bus was proceeding from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. Police, Fire department personnel rushed to the spot on receipt of information. However, the reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained.
