Medical counselling from August 30

August 27, 2014 10:38 pm | Updated 10:38 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in colleges across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the academic year 2014-15 will begin at five centres -- three in A.P and two in Telangana -- on August 30.

The schedule has been announced by NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) on Tuesday night. The counselling venues are NTRUHS Administrative Building in Vijayawada, JNTU campus at Kukatpally in Hyderabad, School of Distance Education of Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, old MBA Building of Sri Venkateswara University and On-Line Counselling Centre of Kakatiya University at Warangal.

Counselling for open category seats in government and private colleges candidates with ranks 1 to 8,500 will be held on August 30, 31 and September 1 (1 to 1500 on August 30, 1501 to 4500 on August 31 and 6501 to 8500 on September 1), all from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

For candidates belonging to SCs, STs and BCs with ranks between 1 and 25000, counselling will be conducted on September 2, 3, 4 and 5 (1 to 3000 on September 2, 3001 to 6500 on September 3, 6501 to 10000 on September 4 and 10001 to 25000 on Sept 5). Anglo-Indian candidates have to appear in the counselling at NTRUHS only.

Scrutiny

Candidates have been asked to produce the following original certificates and two sets of copies for scrutiny at the time of counselling: hall tickets of EAMCET-2014, rank cards, SSC or equivalent examination certificates showing dates of birth, memorandum of marks of qualifying examination in Intermediate or equivalent, transfer and study certificates, 10 years residence certificates of either of parents in case of candidates who studied institutions outside Andhra Pradesh, reservation and caste certificates, income certificates and service records and SSC/SSLC certificates of parents if they are not in-service.

Speaking to The Hindu , NTRUHS Vice-Chancellor T. Ravi Raju said the counselling centre at Warangal has been added to the existing centres this year. He said necessary arrangements have been completed for the counselling which, he hoped, would be devoid of the kind of alleged irregularities that rocked the PG counselling in June.

It would be a smooth affair as the nativity issue which vitiated the atmosphere between A.P and Telangana, was sorted out in line with the directions of the Supreme Court, the V-C asserted. The process would be duly monitored by officers of both governments as it was done earlier.
