‘Run for Cleanliness’ held

Divisional Railway Manager Pradeep Kumar along with Preeti Awasthi, President, South Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (SCRWWO), Additional DRM N.S.R. Prasad and all branch officers and their families, students of Railway High School and Scouts & Guides participated in Run for Cleanliness here on Tuesday.

It started at the Electric Traction Training Centre at Satyanarayanapuram and culminated at the railway station. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Pradeep Kumar said the Railways was committed to improving cleanliness at railway stations, trains and all railway premises. The rally was a part of the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission).

He said the Division has prepared a comprehensive cleanliness action plan covering stations, trains, tracks, workshops, colonies etc. duly involving thousands of Railwaymen/women in the campaign. The services of non-railway organisations like NGOs, NSS, NCC, school/college students, Scouts and Guides etc. from Vijayawada are being utilised in the cleanliness drive.

Mr. Pradeep Kumar highlighted various measures being taken to undertake the special cleanliness campaign.
