TDP condemns Jagan’s Naidu jibe

July 24, 2014 12:58 am | Updated 12:58 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has condemned YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s call to burn the effigy of Chief Minister N. Chandrabu Naidu.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, TDP State secretary Gottipati Ramakrishna Prasad said Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy equated the Chief Minister with ‘Narakasura’ and asked the farmers to burn effigies.

“Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy’s call is unconstitutional. He has no trust in democratic values and is not suitable to be an Opposition leader,” Mr. Prasad remarked.

The YSRC president would face the wrath of farmers and public for going against the policies that people were looking for. The comments were unwarranted, he said.
