Six members of a marriage party were killed and 30 injured when the truck in which they were travelling overturned after hitting a boulder at Gopavaram on the Nallamalla ghat road between Giddalur and Nandyal in Kurnool district late on Friday night. While four persons died on the spot, two others died while they were being shifted to hospital.
The marriage party was from Chattireddypalle near Giddalur in Prakasam district. The injured were rushed to hospitals in Ongole, Guntur and Kurnool. The truck was carrying more than 50 people.
