Two school girls go missing near Palamaner in AP

Tension prevailed in the area, even as the police are making efforts to trace them.

The missing of two school girls - Sangeetha and Lavanya (both aged 7) of Challavaripalle, in Peddapanjani Mandal of Palamaner police division - created a flutter in the district, even as the police are making efforts to trace them.

The two children were reported to have not returned home after the school hours on Friday evening. Their parents, who initially assumed that they would have gone to each other's house, searched the neighbourhood till late in the night and approached the police in the small hours of Saturday. 

Palamaner DSP Harinatha Reddy told The Hindu that a complaint was registered and investigation is on.

All the police stations in the vicinity were alerted.
