Almanac author passes away

Author of Pidaparthi vaari Panchangam, one of the popular Telugu almanacs and former HoD of Chemical Engineering of Andhra University College of Engineering Pidaparthi Dakshina Murthy passed away at a corporate hospital in the early hours of Friday. He was 88 and is survived by his wife, a son and four daughters.

Booradapeta Pidaparthi vari Panchangam, being compiled and published for the last two centuries by the Pidaparthi family is famous, particularly in the north coastal Andhra. The late Prof. Dakshina Murthy continued the family tradition and was also a good astrologer and Vaasthu expert.

Principal of AUCE Ch.V. Ramachandra Murthy paid tributes to the former HoD.
