The 89{+t}{+h}Foundation Day of Andhra University will be celebrated on April 26, Registrar V. Umamaheswara Rao said .
As a tradition AU is felicitating its former teachers and employees who completed 80 years during the Foundation Day celebrations. This year Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju will honour professors A.V.V. Narasimha Swamy (English), D. Visveswaram (Pharmacy), K. Lakshmi Devi (English), V. Subba Rao (Marine Engineering), C. Pavana Murthy (Public Administration), T.N. Murthy (Philosophy), T.R. Datta (English), P. Srirama Murthy (Sanskrit), P. Narasimha Rao (Botany), B. Prasada Rao (economics) and P. Chandramohan (zoology) and former non-teaching staff M. Bennaji Rao, A.S.V. Ramana, K. Sitarama Raju, M. Veerraju, B. Kanakaraju, D. Ramulu, P. Ramachandra Rao, N. Subba Rao, P. Appa Rao and Susan Mathew.
Prof. Raju would garland the university emblem at the main gate and the bust of founder V-C Sir C.R. Reddy in front of the CAO building at 9 a.m. and later facilitate the former teachers and employees at a function to be held at the Y.V.S. Murthy auditorium on the AU Engineering College campus.
