Civil defence inspector bags President’s medal

C.H.U.B.E. Prasad, a senior technician and part-time Civil defence inspector, was felicitated by Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair Division, Anil Kumar, on his securing the ‘President’s medal’ for meritorious services and his contribution to Civil Defence.

Mr. Prasad has been associated with Civil Defence Organisation for the last 28 years and devoted most of his time to conducting Civil Defence training classes to frontline staff of the Division and also at Civil Defence units of different zones.

In recognition of his contribution, he was honoured with various awards – Golden Jubilee year of Independence Day at Kolkota in 1997-98, All India Civil Defence camp 1998, 2002 & 2003, Railway Week Awards by DRM in 2001 & 2003 and by General Manager in 2004, Gujarat Earthquake relief certificate, shield given by District Collector, Koraput, for organising rescue programme at Koraput and Awards by DRM/Waltair and DGM & CCDO of East Coast Railway for conducting Heavy Rescue operations at Visakhapatnam, Secunderabad, Kanpur and Varanasi.

President’s Home and Civil Defence Medal, the highest honour, was given to Mr. Prasad at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in the presence of the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijijju.
