Enumerate all damaged houses: CPI(M)

October 20, 2014 10:31 pm | Updated May 23, 2016 04:42 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

The city unit of the CPI (M) has demanded that all the damaged houses by cyclone Hudhud should be enumerated and covered in the survey taken up by officials. Otherwise, people who suffered the loss would not get any compensation.

Party city secretary B. Ganga Rao said while 70,000 houses were damaged so far 25,652 houses were covered.

The enumerators were not covering the roof-sheets damaged, wall collapse, or damage on top floors, Mr. Ganga Rao alleged.

All the houses damaged should be paid compensation and all those who lost houses should be given units under Indira Awas Yojna, he demanded.
