The Telugu film industry has come out with a variety programme to raise funds for the Hudhud victims of Visakhapatnam and north Andhra districts.

The proceeds from the programme would be donated to the A.P. CM Relief Fund for undertaking work in the Hudhud-affected areas. The event will be held in Hyderabad on November 30. A ‘tambola’ will be organised in association with Gemini TV and the names of the 104 winners, chosen to participate in the live show will be announced on November 28.

A four-hour cricket match will be held at Kotla Vijaybhaskar Reddy Stadium in Hyderabad in which Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Baahubali and Anushka teams will participate.

Film producer D. Suresh Babu told the media at Dr. Rama Naidu Studio here on Wednesday that there would be all kinds of entertainment programmes with the idea of raising funds for Hudhud relief. They include a special dinner with stars, ‘tambola’ and ‘antakshari’. Producer Allu Aravind said that all the stars from the industry, without any exception, would participate in the 12-hour non-stop programme on TV on that day.

In response to the call given by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, a few scenes of the film ‘Gopala Gopala’ were being shot at Rama Naidu Studio to boost the morale of the people after the cyclone.

‘Dine with the stars’ would be for those who donate Rs.1 lakh towards Hudhud relief. The donor could participate along with another person. The sale of tickets for this was restricted to 250. He said that the Chief Minister had agreed to provide matching funds from the government side towards cyclone relief.

Actor Venkatesh appealed to his fans and the public to contribute whatever they could for the noble cause. Actor Shreya said she was touched by the plight of the cyclone victims.

Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao recalled the efforts of the Chief Minister in restoring normalcy in the aftermath of the cyclone in a record time. It took five weeks for restoration of normalcy after a similar cyclone in the U.S. in the past. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also floored by the resilience of the people of the city after undergoing such a major calamity.

Minister for Panchayat Raj Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu commended the film industry for coming forward to help the affected-people.

Visakhapatnam East MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu was present.
