Air Commodore S.R. Gharpure, Deputy Director General, NCC (AP & TS), visited 2(A) Girls Battalion at Vizianagaram on Tuesday as part of his three-day visit in the city. He was presented the guard of honour and was briefed on the activities being carried out in the unit. The staff and the cadets had the privilege of interacting with the senior officer. He was accompanied by Group Commander, Visakhapatnam Group, Commodore V.V.S. Raju.
The DDG also visited Bheemunipatnam Chaitanya Ashram Yoga institute at Vizianagaram to arrange yoga instructors for all the NCC cadets which will commence with effect from April 15.
He also visited the AP Sainik School, Korukonda, and interacted with its principal. Later, the Deputy Director General proceeded to Srikakulam where he was received by Col Krishna Kumar of 14(A) Battalion NCC who briefed him on all the training activities carried out by the NCC cadets of the unit during the preceding training year.
