NTPC Simhadri on a green drive

The NTPC Simhadri, which has been leading in the campaign to raise green cover in the region, took up a mass sapling plantation at the SEZ Atchyutapuram.

Led by Group General Manager A K Samanta the NTPC Simhadri team, as part of its mass afforestation activity, planted saplings in the SEZ on Monday. The NTPC Simhadri has already planted 6.6 lakh saplings within the plant and township and on 15 acres at the archeological site Thotlakonda.

Apart from reviving the green cover damaged in the recent Cyclone Hudhud, NTPC-Simhadri is actively participating in the State gvernment’s ‘Haritha Visakha’ Vana Mahostavam.

NTPC-Simhadri has taken up distribution of the fruit bearing plants in the surrounding villages and SC/ ST/ OBC hostels, which has been appreciated by employees and residents of surrounding villages, according to a statement issued here.
