Resumption of commercial flights from October 18

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has worked out a temporary schedule for resumption of commercial flights from October 18.

The temporary schedule was prepared after AAI member (operations) G.K. Chaukiyal, Regional Executive Director (Southern Region) Deepak Sastry and EDs held a meeting with Airport Director C. Pattabhi on Wednesday. Initially, nine flights to various domestic destinations like Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, and Mumbai would be operated. However, international flights would not be allowed till further clearance.

At present, 19 flights, including two international flights, are being operated from the airport. Navy and airline operators, including those of Silk Air, attended the meeting.

Airport Director C. Pattabhi and Assistant General Manager (F & A) G.M.S. Rao were among those who participated in the meeting.
