One has to get through strenuous physical endurance test -- to complete five-km run in 24 minutes and chest expansion for men and one mile run to be completed in eight and a half minutes for women. The constable post aspirants can appear for written examination only after qualifying in the physical fitness test.
With the help of CRPF, SAAP and NPA the candidates are being taught how to pace the run, breath during the run to keep their stamina, managing body and other finer points. Since the five-km race is almost always held under hot sun, the candidates are being trained and told how to preserve their strength and run without taking water. Chest expansion is a crucial aspect. Faculty from reputed institutions is engaged to teach the youths mathematics, reasoning, English, and general awareness. All the trainees are provided with running shoes and T shirts. The 15-daily training for the first batch will conclude on March 31.
Spoorthi does not end at imparting training. The trained youth would be provided all logistical support to attend the physical recruitment test to be held in Visakhapatnam during May. All individuals who clear the physical test will again be supported through an intensive 45-day study programme to crack the written test to be conducted later.
