The Telugu Desam Government is putting forth excuses for not fulfilling the promises it made in its election manifesto, AP Congress Committee president N. Raghuveera Reddy said.
Addressing party cadre here on Sunday as part of the effort to resuscitate the party in the State, he said that the TDP Government, which promised unconditional loan waiver in its manifesto, is now drawing up new guidelines on who is eligible and who is not. The same is the case with loans of members of woman SHGs, he pointed out.
Later addressing the media, he ridiculed the statement of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that he did not have a seat to occupy in the Secretariat and said that this is only an excuse for not attending to pressing official matters. He questioned the rationale of the State Government in setting up a committee on new capital even as the Central Committee on identification of capital is yet to submit its report. Demanding transparency in the operations of the Government, he said the move to appoint the head of a corporate education group and others on the committee raised doubts about their vested interests.
The AP Reorganisation Act is clear on the continuation of EAMCET and counselling process and there is no reason for either Telangana or Andhra Pradesh governments to delay admissions into professional courses, he said. On fee reimbursement, he said the AP Government would have to pay the fee of students from the State.
