The situation in Visakha Agency which witnessed exchange of fire between the Maoists and the Police during the last two days, was like a stand-still even as the police and CRPF intensified its combing operations, Superintendent of Police Koya Praveen said on Friday.

There was a brief exchange of fire near Cheedipalem on Wednesday after the Maoists fired at the police, followed by longer duration engagement between the two near Teegalametta, 15 km away, on Thursday. Both villages are in Boodaralla Panchayat in Koyyuru mandal.
