VIT University has donated Rs.1 crore to the A.P. Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the rehabilitation activities to be taken up after Hudhud cyclone recently hit Vishakapatnam causing immense damage to the coastal city.

The VIT University founder and Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan handed over the demand draft, to AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at his office on Thursday. Mr. Naidu thanked the VIT for generous contribution. The VIT University Vice-Presidents Sankar Viswanathan, Sekar Viswanathan, G.V. Selvam and Asst. Vice- President Kadhambari S. Viswanathan accompanied the Chancellor.

Mr. Vishwanathan said that the VIT was deeply concerned at the loss of lives, property and crops in Vishakhapatnam due to the recent cyclone. “Majority of students at VIT University are from Andhra Pradesh and we wanted to like them to know that we are here for them in their time of loss,” he said.
