It was a closed chapter, said YSR Congress district president Gudivada Amarnath on the resignation of party senior leader Konathala Ramakrishna and former MLA Gandi Babji from the party.
There was no need to discuss it and party would move on as leaders come and go, Mr. Amarnath said at a press conference on Friday. Party MLAs Giddi Eswari and Boodi Mutyala Naidu were present and asserted that they would continue with the party. When asked why another MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao, who is close to Mr. Ramakrishna, was absent, Mr. Amarnath said he could not be contacted since he was touring some interior villages in the Agency area. “I believe he is not having any idea (about quitting)”, he added.
The young district president likened himself to Indian cricket captain M.S. Dhoni. “There were many seniors in the team like Sachin Tendulkar, Ganguly, and Dravid and Dhoni won three World Cups for India. I am young and always taking advice of elders in the party,” he said.
Former MLAs Tynala Vijaya Kumar, Malla Vijaya Prasad, T. Gurumurthy Reddy and K. Sitaramu, party’s Assembly segments coordinators Vamsikrishna Srinivas, Ch. Venkata Rao, Kola Guruvulu, Kampa Hanok and others were present.
