19-year-old electrocuted

A 19-year-old youth was electrocuted to death while urinating near a public toilet in Kalasipalya on Saturday.

According to the police, the deceased, Prakash Kumar, a native of Rajasthan had come to Bengaluru four months back and was working as a sales-boy at a relative’s utensils store.

Prakash went to urinate at around 7 p.m. at the public toilet in Moti Nagar and did not return. Neighbours found Prakash in an unconscious state near the toilet and informed Bhakraram, Prakash’s relative and owner of the utensil store.

Mr. Bhakraram rushed Prakash to KIMS Hospital where the doctors declared him as brought dead.

Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the Prakash was electrocuted because he came in contact with the iron grill gate of the toilet. Electricity from a lose snapped electric wire made contact with the iron-gate and led to Prakash’s death.

Mr. Bhakraram accused the BBMP and BESCOM officials of negligence which lead to Prakash’s death.

Based on the available information, police are investigating further.
