The alleged incident of rape of an actor by Karthik Gowda, son of Railway Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda, took a curious twist on Tuesday after a film director filed a private complaint against the rape victim, accusing her of polygamy and cheating.

In his complaint with the 8th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Rishi claimed he met the actor during a film shoot. They became friends and later married on July 17, 2004, at a hotel, where they stayed for around four months. The complainant added that she left him, taking off with Rs. 2 lakh.

He also said he found her living with another person in Pune, but could not establish the person’s identity. On August 27, he identified the victim after she went on air accusing Mr. Karthik of cheating her. He claimed that he went to her house in Ganganagar asking for the Rs. 2 lakh, but was abused. He was also threatened not to reveal that they were married.

Admitting the private complaint, the court has posted the hearing for September 16.
