CBSE Class 12 results: Karnataka pass per cent stands at 95.45

In an uncommon occurrence, boys fared marginally better than girls in the State

Class 12 students who appeared for the All-India Senior School Certificate Examination under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in Karnataka have secured a pass percentage of 95.45 per cent. Karnataka falls under Chennai region, which consists of five States and three Union territories. Chennai region has secured a pass percentage of 91.14 per cent, the second highest among regions in the country.

Boys do marginally better

In Karnataka, in an uncommon occurrence, boys fared marginally better than girls. In all, 5,013 boys and 4,046 girls appeared from the State, of whom 4,788 boys and 3,859 girls passed. With this, the pass percentage for boys (95.51) is marginally higher than for girls, which stands at 95.38.

Thiruvanthapuram region has secured a pass per cent is 95.41 per cent. Chennai region has bagged the second spot and is over the national average of 82 per cent. Like every year, girls (92.13 per cent) have fared better than boys (90.37 per cent). 46,590 students of the total 51,121 students in the Chennai region have cleared the examination. The exams were conducted between 2 March and 20 April this year.

Delay in accessing results

Although the Central Board of Secondary Education had announced that the class 12 results would be declared at noon, several students who were glued to their computer screens spent anxious moments waiting for the results. The website crashed around noon and students were able to access results only by 1 p.m.

The class 10 Central Board of Secondary Education results would be announced on Wednesday.
