A retired constable was found hanging in his bedroom at his residence in Muneshwara Layout in Doddabidrakallu on Saturday morning.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Govindappa, a retired constable. He retired from the post around two months back. A week ago, his son Praveen Kumar, an engineer in a private company, was diagnosed with dengue. Praveen was admitted in a private hospital and put in the Intensive Care Unit as his condition was serious.

Govindappa’s family members say he may have been upset over his son’s health condition.

The incident came to light on Saturday morning, when his wife and daughter went to look for him.

A case has been registered in Peenya police station.
