A group of three students from Kerala were beaten up by locals in Bhoopasandra in Sanjay Nagar on Saturday.

The gang, armed with lathis, barged into the house and asked the students if they were from Kerala and proceeded to beat them up when it was confirmed. Marvin Michael Joy, a student from Brindavan College, sustained severe head injuries. He was taken to Bowring Hospital and later shifted to NIMHANS.

Two other students, Nikhil Kameshwar and Mohammed Hasher, were also beaten up by the gang before fleeing the spot. Hasher said "The locals beat us up because we are from Kerala, and called us goons."
