A fire broke out at a pharmaceutical company in Peenya Industrial Area on Tuesday afternoon. Anglo French Drugs & Industries Ltd, a pharmaceutical company located in Jalahalli 2nd Stage, was gutted and two of its employees were injured. The two were immediately shifted to a hospital where they are said to be recuperating.

According to Fire and Emergency Services personnel, the spark must have triggered by a leaking gas cylinder on the premises at around 2.55 p.m. One of the employees, who spotted the fire, alerted the control room. Four fire tenders rushed to the spot and took a couple of hours to put out the fire. The extent of damage is yet to be ascertained.
