Two head constables attached to Old Airport Road police station have been suspended for playing cards in uniform on the station premises.

A video recording showing the duo, Sadashivappa and Dhananjaya, playing at the station during duty hours went viral, following which Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-east) Rohini Katoch Sepat suspended them pending enquiry.

Prima facie evidence showed that they were playing cards but not gambling. Though it looked like they were playing during leisure hours, a probe is on to ascertain the exact time, she said.

The duo has been suspended since they were playing cards while in uniform, which would send a wrong signal to the public, she said.
