Days after the Upalokayukta took the Bescom to task over supplying power to illegal hoardings, officials from the power utility held a joint coordination meeting with the officials of BBMP.
A release from Bescom on Tuesday said there are 1,729 authorised hoardings and 1,017 unauthorised ones. Of these, Bescom has disconnected power supply to 279 unauthorised hoardings already. Bescom has given its officials 15 days’ time to disconnect power supply to the remaining unauthorised hoardings.
To achieve this, Bescom will submit a list of subdivision officers of the respective area to BBMP. The city corporation will in turn have its zonal Joint Commissioners prepare a list of unauthorised hoardings. A team comprising Bescom and BBMP officials will launch disconnection drive.
