Private bus driver found dead

A driver of a private bus was found dead at Kengeri on Friday.

The police identified the deceased as Prakash Gowda, resident of Muddannapalya in Nagarabhavi. According to the police, Prakash Gowda would ferry IT employees from Electronics City to various parts of the city. A gang stopped the bus near the Ambedkar College on Kengeri Main Road on Friday night and attacked Prakash. The men stabbed Prakash Gowda on his chest and neck. He tried to alight from the bus and escape, but the assailants chased him and hacked him to death and escaped.

Businessman robbed

A man was assaulted and robbed of valuables and Rs. 1.3 lakh in cash in his house in Kodigehalli on Friday.

According to the police, Santosh Kumar (22) saw two men standing near his house when he returned from his sari shop on Friday night. The duo said they wanted to buy saris, and when Santosh asked them to come the next morning, they said they wanted water to drink. When he was going inside to fetch water, one of the men covered his mouth with a cloth, tied his hand to his back and robbed 100 saris, a laptop, mobile phone and Rs. 1.3 lakh in cash, and fled.

Bar manager attacked

Two persons allegedly attacked manager Devaraj, supervisor Harish and a security guard of Daawat Bar and Restaurant in Koramangala 7th Block early Saturday morning. Devaraj sustained serious injuries. A case has been registered against two persons identified as Rehmath and Suraj, and both are absconding.
