July 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - Bengaluru:

Three persons sustained injuries in a clash between members of two communities over a trivial row in Tannery Road, K.G. Halli, on Sunday.

Tension prevailed for sometime in the area following the incident. Police rushed to the spot and deployed tight security to ensure law and order.

According to the police, trouble started when a group of boys were playing cricket in front of the house of a relative of a former BBMP councillor. The residents objected to the boys standing close to the house and asked them to go away.

Argument

A heated argument ensued and it took an ugly turn when Shivakumar, the former councillor’s relative, allegedly beat up the boys.

On learning about the incident, more people joined the fight, which soon turned into a group clash.

The three injured are undergoing treatment in a hospital, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Satish Kumar, who rushed to the spot, said.

The jurisdictional police have detained several persons in this connection, he said.
