Parveen Travels on Tuesday launched ‘Konferenz on Wheels', a bus with facilities to conduct business conferences on the move.

Addressing media persons here, Director of Parveen Travels Private Limited A.Aarif said it was for the first time that such a bus was being launched in the city.

It was targeted at corporates and IT companies that prefer change in environment and want to utilise the time spent on travel effectively.

The centralised airconditioned bus, with a seating capacity of 14, has plasma television, wireless internet connection, DVD audio surround sound system and laptop compatibility. Other facilities include wireless microphones, a mini pantry and washroom, he said.

The bus designed at a cost of Rs.73 lakh will initially be offered only in Chennai and later extended to other cities. More such vehicles would be introduced depending on the response, said Mr. Aarif.

Parveen Travels' Managing Director A. Afzal said the company had already tied up with a few corporate firms. To a query on the market for such a customised bus, he said “There is scope for such a concept. We are also discussing [it] with the film fraternity,” he said.

Mr. Afzal said that as an introductory offer Rs.27,999 would be charged for eight hours.

The travel distance is limited to 200 km. It could also be used for short distance tours by families as the vehicle has foldable tables.

Parveen Travels, with a fleet of over 1,000 vehicles, transports 35,000 passengers daily.
