August 30, 2014 01:39 am | Updated 01:39 am IST - CHENNAI:

The police suspect the involvement of a 40-year-old woman in the mysterious death of an advocate in Korattur on Thursday afternoon. She is being questioned.

D.P. Kamaraj (51) of Selaiyur, a practising lawyer at Madras High Court, was brought dead to a private hospital in Thousand Lights on Thursday afternoon.

There were injury marks on his face.

The body was later shifted to Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, following which lawyers protested at the hospital and outside the police commissionerate, demanding a thorough police probe into their colleague’s demise.

A case of unnatural death was registered and the police are now interrogating one of Kamaraj’s women clients.

He had visited her first-floor house in Korattur on Thursday, and allegedly slipped and fell to his death.

The post-mortem report is awaited to ascertain if it is a case of murder or accidental death, said the police.
