The Shiv Sena on Wednesday termed the >meeting between journalist Ved Prakash Vaidik and Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed an act of treason.

“We can forgive those like Poonam Pandey who dare to strip for publicity, but not those who hold discussions with Hafiz Saeed,” said the editorial in the Sena’s mouthpiece Saamna .

The editorial said Saeed was not only a terrorist but also the mastermind of the 26/11 terror attack. “He is the one behind Kasab and he dreams of destroying our nation. The journalist’s meeting him and clicking photos with him are nothing but a sin,” it said.

The BJP’s oldest ally has also asked the Centre to take stern steps against such incidents. “Had the Congress been in power, the BJP and its allies would have cornered the government. But today, we are in power and we need to investigate it,” the editorial said.
