A 3-month-old Ugandan giraffe, Leroy, is let into the East Africa exhibit at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. The calf, born on Jan. 8, was hospitalized at 2 weeks of age for a severe bacterial infection. The young giraffe received around-the-clock care from the Safari Park’s veterinarians, animal care staff and keepers for more than a month. Leroy made a full recovery and was able to rejoin his herd.
