A personality test on Gita values

June 30, 2015 01:00 am | Updated 01:00 am IST - MUMBAI:

The Internet is home to various portals that calculate your intelligence and emotional and spiritual quotients. Now comes a website that measures your personality based entirely on the values preached in the Bhagavad Gita.

The Triguna Energy Quotient (TEQ) helps you discover your guna (inherent energy) and makes you “aware of your true nature”. Based on the results, a person’s personality may be active, contemplative or realising potential. Over 10,000 people, including students, have taken the test so far, the website says.

The tool measures you on three attributes mentioned in the Gita: Sattva (positive energy), Rajas (dynamic energy) and Tamas (potential energy), says its designer Satish Modh, a Bhagavad Gita researcher and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Konkan Pranth sahasangchalak.

The Sattva inclines a person toward goodness, truth, purity and knowledge. The Rajas provides energy for action to realise a cause or pursue an interest or fulfil a purpose in life. The Tamas provides vitality, capacity for survival or continuation of a meaningful existence. The website is based on 20 years of research, says Dr. Modh.
