Farmer injured in leopard attack

Maddipalli Sivaiah, a 34-year-old farmer, was seriously injured when a leopard attacked him near an agricultural well at Molakalapondla village in Sydapuram Mandal limits in Nellore District here on Tuesday.

As he raised an alarm, the villagers rushed to his rescue following which the leopard escaped into the nearby bushes.

Sivaiah was admitted to the Gudur Hospital where his condition was stated to be stable. He told his fellow villagers that the leopard was lurking in the bushes when he was going near the well. He ran after noticing the leopard, but it attacked him from behind. He was however saved on arrival of the villagers at the spot.
