Kalam's death: No holiday in A.P.

Andhra Pradesh Government announced that no holiday has been declared on Tuesday for Government offices and educational institutions due to the sudden demise of Bharata Ratna and former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on Monday.

Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao requested all the government offices and educational institutions to work an hour extra on Tuesday as a mark of respect for the departed soul and respect Kalam's wish, according to an official release.
