The ‘shobha yatra’ of the auspicious ‘Lakshmi Kasula Haram’, a jewel bearing 500 coins with the image of Goddess Lakshmi Devi in four rows, was held here on the fifth day of the annual Karthika Brahmotsavams at Tiruchanur on Sunday.

A special puja was performed on the jewel, which was brought from the treasury of the Lord Venkateswara, and it was taken out in a procession along the four mada streets before arriving at the Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple in Tirumala.

It was handed over by the TTD’s Tirumala JEO K.S. Sreenivasa Raju to his counterpart in Tirupati, Pola Bhaskar, at Pasupu Mandapam at Tiruchanur.

Later, TTD Executive Officer M.G. Gopal took part in the shobha yatra of the jewel, which adorned the idol of Goddess Padmavathi during the procession on the celestial carrier, Gaja Vahanam.
