The Union government on Tuesday said it had no plans to bring the process of judicial appointments to the High Courts and the Supreme Court under the ambit of the Right to Information(RTI) Act.

In a press conference, Union Law Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda said transparency in judicial appointments could be achieved without bringing it under the information law.

The Minister said the memorandum of procedure (MoP) of appointments of judges to the Supreme Court and the 24 High Courts was still in the final stage.
