Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party continued their dharna in the Legislative Assembly for the second day on Saturday, demanding a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into alleged corruption in de-notification of 541 acres in Arkavati Layout of the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA).

As soon as the House met, BJP members staged dharna and raised slogans against Congress.

Leader of the Opposition Jagadish Shettar had raised the issue and urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to entrust the probe to CBI.

Mr. Siddaramaiah said 422 acres of lands have been de-notified during the BJP regime when Mr. Jagadish Shettar was the Chief Minister.

When BJP refused to withdraw the dharna, Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa adjourned the House for 10 minutes to hold talks with floors leaders on the issue.

Mr. Siddaramaiah maintained that the Arkavathi Layout scheme of the BDA was re-modified after the Congress came to power. The scheme was modified based on the Karnataka High Court orders.

While the BJP leader alleged that 541 acres were de-notified by the government to raise money for election fund during the last general elections.

Mr. Siddaramaiah alleged that 198.20 acres of land was de-notified by the then Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa without even a resolution by the BDA.
