Special yoga sessions for Dasara tourists

A 10-day “Yoga Dasara” will attempt to spread the Indian knowledge of yoga to guests in 45 hotels during the grand celebration of Dasara in Mysore, according to Health Minister U.T. Khader.

He told presspersons here on Monday, that a meeting was held with representatives of 45 hotels in this regard already. Students from Mysore-based Ayurveda College will be roped in to teach some simple yoga postures and breathing techniques (pramayamas) to the guests in the mornings during the period of Dasara. In addition, special yoga camps would be held for students in hotels in Mysore during the festivities.

Another feature of Dasara was plantation of 30,000 saplings of plants with medicinal value in Mysore district, the Minister said.
