Chandra Pongal at Koonambaikulam

The Chandra Pongal ritual organised in connection with the annual Kumbha Bharani festival of the Valiya Koonambaikulam Sree Bhadrakali temple here will be held from 5 p.m. on March 4. Thousands of women will be participating in the ritual which is mainly held along the 4-km Mevaram-Kallumthazham stretch of the Kollam bypass to National Highway 47. Temple authorities said that all arrangements had been made for the smooth conduct of the ritual which is held on the first day of the 10-day annual festival of the temple. Annadanam will be held at 11.30 a.m. on all days of the festival. Special rituals will be held at the temple on the occasion of Sivaratri on March 7. — Special Correspondent
