No financial crisis, says Mani

Finance Minister K.M. Mani has allayed fears regarding the reported recruitment freeze in the State. Such fears were unfounded and without any basis as there was no ban on recruitments, he told journalists here on Monday. There was no ‘economic depression’ in the State. However, the government faced a financial crisis, he said. The government proposed to bring in some regulations. The government had considered the proposal to desist from creating new posts. That would be a temporary measure, he added.
