Tests confirm Mani’s voice

April 07, 2013 03:20 am | Updated November 16, 2021 10:49 pm IST - KATTAPPANA:

Tests conducted at the Forensic Science Laboratory, Thiruvananthapuram, has confirmed that the voice in the CD containing the controversial speech made by M.M. Mani, former Idukki district secretary of the CPI(M), at Manakkad near Thoduouzha on May 25, 2012, in which he had said that his party had a hit-list to kill its opponents, was that of Mr. Mani and had not been tampered with or edited.

The lip movement was in accordance with the voice in the 31-minute video produced as proof of his speech.

It was on the basis of his speech that the Thodupuzha police had filed a case against him and a Special Investigation Team was created to inquire into all political murders since 1980s. It was on the probe into the INTUC activist Anchery Baby’s murder that culminated in the arrest of Mr Mani and two others who were remanded to the Peerumade sub jail.
