As the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) gears to hold its Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal, the highest policy formulation body of the RSS, meeting here from Friday, the Nagpur-headquartered organisation has formally replaced its ‘sah-sarkaryawah’ or joint general secretary Suresh Soni with Krishna Gopal as its pointsman for coordination with the BJP.

Mr. Soni has been in charge of the coordination between the RSS and the BJP for over a decade now. Mr. Gopal, also a ‘sah-sarkaryawah’ in the RSS, will assume this responsibility. The coordinator, who also plays the key role of keeping an eye on the functioning of the BJP, assumes much importance in dealing with affairs between Nagpur and BJP’s Delhi-based headquarters.
