Maharashtra government announces annual film awards

Senior cinematographer in Hindi and Marathi film industry Suryakant Lavande and veteran actress Shashikala will be conferred with V. Shantaram and Raj Kapoor Life Time Achievement Awards respectively by the Maharashtra government, said the State’s Cultural Minister Vinod Tawde on Monday. The award ceremony will take place on April 30 in Pune.

The awards are given every year by the Maharashtra government on the birth anniversary of Indian cinema veteran Dadasaheb Phalke. “The life time achievement awards are given for their extraordinary contribution to the film industry. We are happy to felicitate two legends of the industry,” said Mr. Tawde.
