Arms haul in Kupwara, Baramulla

The Army on Sunday claimed to have made an arms haul in north Kashmir’s Kupwara and Baramulla districts.

It recovered 18 AK-47 assault rifles and five pistols from a militant hideout in the forests near the Line of Control (LoC).

“A large cache of weapons was intercepted by the Army deployed at the LoC in Keran sector. We so far have seized 18 AK-47 rifles and five pistols,” an Army spokesperson told The Hindu .

Search in progress He said the search for more ammunition and hideouts was in progress.

In Baramulla, the Army claimed to have recovered a sniper rifle, two pistols, two Under Barrel Grenade Launchers (UBGL) with 23 UBGL grenades, 18 hand grenades, six rocket projectile guns (RPG), two disposable rocket launchers, four radio sets and two mortar bombs.
