BJP activists in Manipur are overjoyed as party candidate Premita Sandam has won the Kakching Municipal council elecion in Thoubal distrct. She defeated her nearest rival Lokendro Moirangthem of the Congress.
The BJP workers said it showed that the Modi wave has reached Manipur. It may be recalled that for a long time, the BJP has not been able to win a single seat in the Assembly or Lok sabha elections in Manipur.
Chaoba Thounaojam, the Manipur unit president, said corruption under successive Congress Ministries in the State would be probed.
