Cuttack bandh evokes lukewarm response

: While the dawn to dusk Cuttack bandh call given by the Odisha Hindu Sena in protest against the massive irregularities in the Nabakalebar festival of Lord Jagannath evoked lukewarm response in the city on Saturday, the bar associations of the State reiterated their call for a judicial commission of enquiry into the ‘Bramh Paribartan’ fiasco.

After a successful bandh over the issue last week by the Congress party, residents of the city were reluctant to throw their weight behind the Odisha Hindu Sena on Saturday. Barring a few picketing incidents by activists of the fringe organisation at Badambadi and Link Road for less than an hour, normal life in the city was not affected.
