Senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) functionaries on Thursday imparted “lessons of public life” to newly elected BJP MLAs and Ministers in the Devednra Fadnavis Cabinet and members of the State Legislative Council at the RSS headquarters here.
All BJP MLAs, MLCs and ministers, including Chief Minister Fadnavis, visited the Hedgewar Smriti Mandir on Thursday and paid tributes to the first Sarsanghchalak of the RSS, Hedgewar.
The BJP legislators and ministers then attended an hour-long closed door lecture by the RSS Nagpur area Pracharak Dilip Gupta.
The Chief Minister and other ministers refused to share details of the meeting.
“We come here every year. Hedgewar Smriti Mandir is a source of inspiration for us. There is nothing new in the visit,” said Finance Minister Sudhir Manguntiwar when repeatedly asked about the purpose of the meeting.
According to a BJP MLA, the meeting was arranged by state BJP organisational secretary Ravindra Bhusari.
“We were instructed about how to carry ourselves in public life. The instructions also dealt with legislators’ contribution to different initiatives of the RSS and commitment to Hindutva ideology” revealed the MLA.
