Security has been tightened in the border district of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan after >16 Ministers received threatening emails purportedly sent by the terrorist group, Indian Mujahideen.
District SP Rajiv Pachar held a meeting with officers on Friday evening and directed them to remain alert.
“All SHOs have been asked to be more vigilant, particularly in areas which are close to the border,” the SP said on Saturday.
Routine checking in hotels and other places for any suspicious movement has also been intensified, he said.
The Ministers, including Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria and Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Arun Chaturvedi, had received the emails on their official IDs on December 22.
